Forest-Vill Zrt., a key player in Hungary’s electric power industry, has received the “E.ON Safety-Conscious Partner of the Year 2025” award. The recognition was granted by E.ON’s professional evaluation committee in acknowledgment of the company’s outstanding commitment to occupational safety and its introduction of sustainable, digital safety management tools. The award was presented to the company’s representatives at E.ON’s headquarters in Budapest.
With the “E.ON Safety-Conscious Partner of the Year 2025” award, Forest-Vill Zrt. was recognized for its outstanding occupational safety performance and exemplary work in the field of HSE (Health, Safety and Environment). During the evaluation, particular emphasis was placed on the company’s high level of safety awareness as well as its efforts to integrate sustainability and the conscious use of digital tools into everyday operations. Demonstrating its commitment to safe and responsible work practices, the company introduced a digital application that completely replaces paper-based daily work instructions and HSE inspections.
During its daily and weekly operational HSE activities, Forest-Vill previously relied heavily on paper-based administration: daily work instructions and safety inspections required the use of more than 12,000 A4 pages annually. Managing these documents posed not only environmental but also ergonomic and practical challenges, as most employees perform their work outdoors rather than in an office, often under changing weather conditions. In response to these challenges, the system developed by Forest-Vill enables the use of digital forms tailored to specific work sites, electronic signatures, and the easy attachment of photo documentation with a single click. Automatically generated reports become immediately available and can be shared instantly via email or uploaded to a shared storage platform, effectively eliminating post-inspection administrative work.
As part of the development program, work teams received tablets, allowing team leaders to access the technical documentation, HSE materials, medical fitness certificates and work authorizations required for daily operations via a cloud‑based interface. This solution enhances transparency, managerial oversight and the secure handling of documents. Beyond process optimization, it has also strengthened employees’ safety mindset – a key factor in E.ON’s evaluation criteria.
The digitalization initiative began as a pilot program with active involvement of employees. During the system’s development, the company incorporated user feedback to ensure the application would be easy to learn and use for everyone. The practical benefits were immediate: administration became faster and inspections more streamlined. As a result of the development, Forest‑Vill not only significantly reduced paper consumption but also created a long‑term sustainable, cost‑efficient and scalable solution. The use of the digital platform has already been extended to the management of general work permits, and the company is exploring further expansion of the application into additional areas, such as HR processes.
Forest‑Vill is open to sharing this best practices with other E.ON partners, contributing to a more sustainable and safer operational environment across the industry.
